Each day, Summer Program participants can anticipate activities such as daily worship, storytelling, singing, games, reading, community service, art, and recreation.
Breakfast and lunch are provided daily. Meals are well-balanced and nutritious and are made possible through participation in the Ohio Summer Food Service Program.
Summer Program kids also swim at the Camp Washington Recreation Center pool. Once a week, volunteers and staff take program participants on field trips. These trips are designed to be educational and fun, while showing children the world outside their neighborhood. For many, it is a first-time trip to locations such as the Cincinnati Zoo, Burnet Woods, and Coney Island.
Summer Program keeps the children of Camp Washington off the streets and in constructive activities during summer vacation. The program teaches children basic life skills, prepares the younger children for school, provides guidance training, emphasizes cultural and racial acceptance, and establishes knowledge of God and church.
