HOLIDAY MINISTRIES AT WASHINGTON UCC

We are most grateful to those of you who supported our past Thanksgiving

and Christmas ministries for needy families in the Camp Washington area.  

Again, we are offering two significant community holiday programs in            which your church and its organizations may wish to participate this year.   

THANKSGIVING DINNER BAGS

Items needed for these bags include stuffing mix, canned yams, green beans, cranberry sauce, potatoes and gravy.  If you can provide small turkeys or         roasting chickens, and a dessert, that will be appreciated.  All donations           should be brought to the church by Sunday, November 18 or early Monday       the 19th.  Please call Jean at 513-228-0515 to arrange for someone to            receive your donations. 

GIFTS TO THE MANGER---COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS MINISTRY

Sunday December 17, we will provide area families with some gift items and some basic necessities.  We hope to give each child (about 450) an outfit, socks, underwear, gloves, hat and a few toys.  We hope to give each family an ample food box and a blanket.  The Christ child was born in poverty and gifted by the magi.  What better way to celebrate his birth than to do the same for these children of God!

PLEASE NOTE AND READ CAREFULLY:  Because of your generosity in the past, we have accumulated an inventory of gifts that we save from year to year.  Thus, we have an over abundance of some sizes in clothing and underwear.  We ask that you follow the request guidelines as closely as possible.  In this way, we can be better stewards of your generous giving.  If you have any questions or concerns, please call Jean at 513-228-0515. 

UNDERWEAR:    We do NOT need girl's sizes 8 or 10  nor do we need ladies' sizes 10 or 12
                               We do NOT need boy's briefs in any sizes, we DO need BOXERS in all boy's and men's sizes.
CLOTHING:    We do NOT need girl's 9 mo.,4-T or 6, 6x
                          We do NOT need girl's tops in sizes 12-16
                          We do NOT need women's size medium tops

                          We do NOT need boy's size 12 or 18 mo., or size 2, 4-t, or 7
                          We do  NOT need men's medium shirts

SOCKS?We need all sizes

GLOVES?we do NOT need stretch gloves, we especially need adult sizes

TOYS?we especially need toys for boys and girls, ages 7-16.

WE ESPECIALLY NEED BLANKETS?LAST YEAR WE WERE UNABLE TO GIVE EVERY FAMILY A BLANKET!!!!

SPECIAL REQUESTS:   We request no violent games or toys; no wrapping of gifts (but DO include wrapping paper!) -we request items be delivered if possible by Friday, December 16 (Please call Jean at 513-228-0515 to arrange delivery times) Monetary donations are needed and appreciated.  Please send to Christmas Ministry, Washington UCC, 2950 Sidney, Cincinnati, Ohio 45225.
